Transportation Alternatives is seeking a UI/UX designer to consult over a 2-3 month period on the redesign and relaunch of BikeMonthNYC.org. Interactive features on the site will include but are not limited to a jquery/ajax events calendar, user content submission (sign-up process), integrated Facebook logins for a "I pledge to ride my bike" widget, social media sharing, a livestream chat window and event calendar content search capability.

The designer will be in charge of creating visual user interface designs that exhibit simplicity, clarity of thought and ease-of-use. This role specifies overall user experience, navigation, paradigms and UI screen layouts through sketches/wireframes, information architecture maps and task flows.  Contributing to our team in both logistical and aesthetic terms and conceiving of new types of interactions (social media and otherwise) will be essential. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant portfolio required, showing your work with UI and UX
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant, professional experience
  • Expert at turning an idea into a smart and intuitive user interface based on best practices
  • Highly organized, efficient and extremely detail oriented
  • Highly experienced with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with integration of social media integration (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Interest in T.A.'s advocacy aims
  • Good communication skills
Compensation: commensurate with experience
